The General Service Medal 1962 - 2007 is commonly known as the Campaign Service Medal 1962 as was awarded with a minimum of one campaign clasp (in the instance 'South Vietnam') and it is believed that a maximum of six clasp have been awarded on one medal

This issue was originally intended to serve as a multi-purpose Omani GSM̴Ì_for service of at least six weeks

̴Ì_Issued for service between 23rd May and 6th December 1919 and 19th March - 18th June 1923

Medals that are issued named ('named' being the term used for engraving) have details diamond engraved on the reverse̴ to MoD standard

This version is the 4th or lowest grade (of 5; Excellent, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th). British service personnel were granted permission to accept, but not to wear the medal.
