As with all of Barry Adamson's albums, Stranger on the Sofa is eclectic, dabbling in whatever had struck his fancy on a given day. What is different is that despite the foreboding title and the frankly distressing opening track "Here in the Hole" this is an album with much less of the pervasive dread and misanthropy that characterises most of his work. "The Long Way Back Again" is a fairly content folk rock tune and
