The RCAF tartan is the worlds first air force tartan! Created by Captain Elmer G. Fullerton, Commander of No. 9 Service Flying Training School, RCAF Stn. Summerside, PEI in Jan. 1942. The original sample was woven by Loom Crofters of Gagetown, NB and the design was endorsed by the Air Council on July 13, 1942
