with some rust around the tube wires (I suspect this could be cleaned and wires replaced) and on one exterior of the box a previous owner has scratched "TUBES" into the surface

This rod has an uplocking screwlock over a black plastic (delrin?) spacer. Half wells grip. The rod is marked "pat# 1932986, E. C. Powell Rod co., Marysville, Calif". The wraps are gold with high arch chrome guides. Two opposed node pattern. The original varnish is in excellent condition. There is some minor soiling and erosion of the grip near the hood (pictured). Medium to slow
