Filingeri noted that this research study was designed to further examine changes in weight, body fat mass, and muscle mass in patients taking incretin medications. We found that, under close supervision and regular follow-up from an obesity medicine specialist, patients were able to lose fat mass with only a minimal decline in muscle mass.
