They were created from full sized glass soda bottles one Sun Crest Orange Soda, the other Hires Root Beer, both c. 1950s with a few holes punched into the caps to turn them into (very large) salt and pepper shakers. I assume they are both meant to be cats, though the Salt looks a bit like a raccoon, too. Their size and their make do resourcefulness makes me think perhaps they worn born at a
