especially the shutters and curtains of the cottage

it could serve as a board for so some sort of modified version of checkers

I was drawn to it immediately for the naive manner of the embroidered portrait with this funny little bunch of cherries hanging over head

I do really love ones with hand drawn faces, but the minimalism of this one is lovely, placing the focus on that perfectly folded collar and the great yellow of her pants, both of which were belted with paper and tied (folded) in the back, the belt of the pants concealed under the dress.
