Wonderfully Awkward Still Life with Insect on Stem, House on Reverse, Henry Hinkel, 1913 Drawing , Lancaster NY future pasy Loss of paint to theOne of a handful today pulled from the already falling apart sketchbook of a young Henry Henkel of Lancaster, NY, who wrote his name many times all over it. I just love the wonkiness of this still life basket of fruit, looking as if the arrangement itself was composed by young Henry himself, without much of a mind to balance! And with this wonderful little purple bug (looking a bit like a sheep with antennae) marching toward the end of the stem. And
