I am pretty certain this lacquered papier mache box was made to be used as a snuff box and dates to the late 19th or very early 20th century

He is marked on the bottom but difficult to ready--all I can make out for certain is '"Copyright'"

I think it is very charming, and especially love the formal echo from the side buns of her hair to the loops of her bow to the leaves and petals of the flower she holds.
