Now he gives thanks to God for his victory. At George's back and above him is the Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ. This dramatic presentation is by Heinrich Lefler from his 1899 calendar. Although primarily known as a set and costume designer for the theater, the calendar is widely considered his masterpiece. Most pictures of St. George show the fight, and we like them, but this is our all time favorite picture
