I've become really enamored of the way the gold paint on old tramp art pieces like this softens and mellows with age--in this case I think at least a hundred years time has resulted in mellow gold perfection

but I do believe this little piece is quite old--indeed it feels ancient--and quite beautiful

it is long but not very heavy

I really love the awkward placement of the one tree just to center left of the bridge, as if just floating, and the silhouette of the hills in the distance dotted with trees here and there. But really, I love everything
