Lovely Smallish Arts and Crafts Style Mold lacquerware box architect and librarian who workedThis old mold looks Arts and Crafts in style to me, and I just think really pretty, including for the way the two shiny silver metal plates frame either side of the recessed tree like form's "trunk". I would think there was once another similar plate that fit on top of this one and locked to it via the metal posts, and might guess it was used for plaster, but I'm really not sure. It seems that the mold itself is made of a heavy, almost slate like
