Fruits as Protagonists, Pear and Grapes In Landscape, 19th Century Pastel in Original Frame ceramic bell The figure's face itself transformsI don't always go for old folk art pastel drawings, but I love the almost surreal aspect of this one, with this large pear and bunch of black grapes positioned amid a landscape as if they were human in scale, like the protagonists in some small drama perhaps heading together (and they certainly do feel like a couple!) toward the blue sky in the distance! And doesn't it just seem like the pear is the one who is going to take the lead, while those
