Diameter is 2 11 16". The only marks are tiny ones on the reel foot and a couple inside the reel on the frame. Any other white specks you see in the photos are lint dust. No scratches or anything elsewhere. Reel weighs only 2. 9 oz. and the reel foot, at 2. 4" will fit pretty much any rod you have. Another stunning example
