Antique Wood Slide Top Box Lid with Carved Alphabet McCoy pottery a few stains here andId like to imagine this was once the lid of a box that held a set of beautiful bone carved letters, and that its owner carved a second alphabet into the lid to make it extra special. Really, I have no idea how it came to be, but I sure love it, with the carved divets on the slide lid dictating the starting position for the first two rows of letters, and pointing at them like arrows. Then one longer spanning the whole lenght, leaving just a lonely YZ
