As framed: 13 1/4" w x 15" t x 1 1/8" d

I am not certain of the artist as the only mark on the bottom is "1642 Italy" and I have not found its match

This box is in excellent shape inside and out

I might guess German, but don't know for certain; I really like the form and disposition of it, looking gentle and curious, with tiny carved circles for the eyes and a pointy little pale yellow beak. A perfect shade of light gray with a bit of blue in it, making it almost baby blue, which is lost here and there, more on one
