all housed in a large ebonised glazed frame

thus it appears to be a later deliberate alteration to the design (please see photographs)

The top is inset with original bevelled glass and lifts off to reveal original gold velvet lining. The bijouterie is in an entirely original condition and as such the glass top bears some scratches and there is some very light wear to the leg edges, one leg more so than others (please see photographs).
